    Calendar of Upcoming Events

    Contributed by:Debbie Marzec
    Date:1 Aug 2009

Hope you are having a great summer. I have put together a calendar for the coming year. We have lots of fundraiser's and Fall Crew will be starting in September. Hylton High School will be having their famous Freshman /New Student Orientation on September 3. I will asking for my rowers to come and join me as we get our team some new members. We also will be doing some big fundraiser's. NOVEC dinner will be the first on Sept 23. We will be providing dinner for the NOVEC annual meeting that will take place at Hylton for the first time. We will be sharing this event with the Band Boosters but hope to make $3500 for 1 evening of work. This will be a full call out for help. We will making a spaghetti dinner for all NOVEC members. More info to follow on the details. Yard Sale is going full gear. Jane's room she has given us is full of items that will need to be sorted. Sorting days have been posted and we need your help. Also if you have any items we can always use more. This event will be a early one and anyone knows yard sales start before the sun is up. We will be sorting and packing and unloading at the church early but it will all be over by 2:00 or 3:00. Please mark your calendars for these fundraiser's so we can keep our dues as low as possible. Tag Day follows in October, HOTO (Head of the Occoquan Regatta ) the end of October, and then November starts Winter Training - Date to be determined. We will be offering a installment payment plan for anyone that needs it to make it easier on the wallet. First payment due in November, then December, January and last installment due February in time for the Spring Season... More info to follow on Fall Crew, Fundraiser's, and other crew items.
The calendar is available for download in PDF format here.

    Intro to Sculling Camp

    Contributed by:Dorothy Lazor
    Date:5 June 2009

This LRCRC camp is geared toward the scholastic rower that has had one competitive season of rowing and who wants to learn the basics of sculling.
For scholastic rowers that do know how to scull or who want a longer and more competitive type of camp, I would encourage them to consider attending the PWCA Junior Camp being conducted by Jeannette Newman
