Welcome to Crew

Hylton Crew welcomes all new and returning rowers for the upcoming season. This site, sponsored by the Hylton crew boosters, is intended to keep Hylton crew parents/rowers up to date on crew activities and to serve as a repository of answers for routine questions.  Hylton Crew is primarily funded by donations, fund raiser, and rower fees. Through careful planning by our board members, rower fees will actually be reduced for this coming year.

If you are new to our crew family or are just looking for more information please select the General Info tab. This section will always be a work in progress and is designed to provide basic crew information.

Input by Larry Brengelman on Apr 15, 2012

Just a great big thank you to all for a wonderful day on the river. Our rowers competed in thirteen races with an outstanding four 1st places finishes and three 2nd places (see all race results at score board. It does not take a ribbon or trophy to show you are a winner, it takes your best effort and the self satisfaction of knowing you gave it all you had. Congratulations to all our student-athletes on a job well done! Check out this week's photos on the photo webpage.
Today we had many hands on all tasks and indeed it made light work. Thank you to all booster club members, parent volunteers and rowers for making today possible. The day started early and ran late yet all remained enthusiastic. Thank you again.
As of today the plan for next Saturday is to launch shells from the Oxford boathouse, race and return directly to the boathouse. We do not plan to set up the Point but the booster club does plan to provide launch service so parents may watch the races from the grandstand. More to come through the week. Enjoy!
As a reminder, the Row-A-Thon fundraiser is Monday, April 16 at the Oxford boathouse during normal practice. Verify with your coach, but most practices have been extended until 7pm on this day.

  2. Regional Park Regatta Results

Input by Larry Brengelman on Apr 1, 2012

My most hearty congratulations go out to the entire team! We had several first place boats and some second place boats, but more importantly we rowed, cheered and looked like a team. Way to go bulldogs! My hope is every rower realized the personal satisfaction that comes with being part of a team and that everyone was glad they picked crew as their sport of choice. Keep up the good work. My unofficial results are below.
My opinion is today went very well. Congratulations team and thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers who make it possible. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
    See you on the water!
